Alpha Update: SOLIDS, FINE, and INFINITES

Infinites

This was supposed to be a message on Discord to the Infinites collectors, but it got very long, so I decided to do a Medium with the content:

We have been quiet, but building a lot. Now we are in an exciting moment and would like to get you on board and share what’s coming up with Infinites, SOLIDS, and FINE:

Infinites

Lots of things have happened in Infinites.

Infinites are already 3D simulations, but you might not notice it cause we locked the camera of the viewer. Nevertheless, with the ubiquitous conversations about Metaverse, I couldn’t resist exploring the idea of transforming each Infinite into a world of its own.

So I went ahead with the aid of an extraordinary dev team helping me along the way; we began to create Infinites Islands.

Each Island takes information from each Infinite to generate the landscape and paint it. After this was done, I couldn’t resist letting the user move around. The moment that gesture was implemented, we needed to get an avatar in it: so we loaded a Meebit, then the Islands seemed to want more things! So, we went ahead and implemented as the ideas were coming up!

So what do we have now?

As for now, we have a fully functional engine composed of 512 Islands: each one corresponding with an Infinite. We can load assets (still images and videos) located in your wallet as NFTs. We are also implementing the Meebit API to load your Meebit on the fly and use it as an avatar or run around on the Island autonomously using AI.

In terms of mobility, we can fly through the Islands with a camera in manual and auto mode, move within Islands via teleportation, explore them using a first-person avatar, swim, fly utilizing a helicopter and/or areal vehicles, and we are working to adding speed boats.

The Island is quite playful but not lonely: We are implementing a Multiplayer capability to hang out on the Islands with others, have a voice and chat, and ultimately play some of the games we are developing.

Last year, we realized that we needed galleries or museums to display the NFT collections. We noticed a real gap in terms of architectural assets in the Metaverse space in general. That problem drove me to create a generative architecture project: SOLIDS, a project I want to explain next.

To recap with Infinites, we started the Islands as an art project, and now it is becoming something more significant, mixing art and design. The Islands will be multiplayer, and we are working on loading the owners´ NFT assets. In addition, we are implementing some games, so users invited to the islands can play while hanging out. The current version of Islands is made matching the Infinites AI, so each Infinite has its own island. Furthermore, we will expand this logic to Infinites IRL; however, we might make one island by mixing two IRL. This will be subject to changes, as we are focused on the Alpha version using the AI.

When minting?

I have been driven by the approach of delivering functional products. As Islands are crossing the boundary of Utility NFT, I will make sure we have a basic feature set well-executed, such as the Multiplayer, mobility within Islands, and the ability to load some NFT assets. We are aiming for March to release this Alpha version; however, our dev team slowed down a bit since they are affected by the unfortunate events in Ukraine. So we will have to be patient.

SOLIDS

This is a fascinating project, and I believe it is one of the first of its kind: A generative Architecture project for the Metaverse.

We have developed a set of scripts corresponding to Archetypes that generate unique Architectural models compatible with most 3D software, including Games and Metaverses. We, as a team, love the SOLIDs and are proud of them. It’s a unique project that will open many possibilities and inspire architects and designers to join the space.

The original premise of the SOLIDS was to be used as personal galleries to display NFT collections. They are not huge so they can be located on parcels or in web applications based on three.js. The fact that they are not huge is an invitation to users to collect several of them and develop unique configurations in any given landscape or within our own landscapes that we will launch for the community in the future.

SOLIDS are meant to be implemented on other metaverses; however, we could also create our native one, which would be in response to the community needs.

When Mint?

Test Outputs for SOLIDS

Since we are interested in users having several solids and creating small neighborhoods, we wanted to make this project have a larger supply. The current aim is to do 8,888 solids for an affordable minting price of 0,08 ETH. The underlying scripts are versatile, letting us generate unique SOLIDs.

When the user mints a SOLID, automatically, it gets a 3D file in FBX and GLB — so it can be imported into other 3D environments. Down the road, we will work on making them compatible with more Metaverses and environments as we evolve.

SOLIDS will have a commercial license, and the owner will own the SOLID and the rights — similar to if it was a building IRL! Also, Infinites AI+IRL holders are whitelisted to Mint SOLIDS

Currently, we are finalizing the last details and polishing this project, which will be released along with FINE as its Genesis drop.

What is FINE?

We had been going through a crazy learning curve since the creation of Infinites back in summer last year. The learning curve also has been a community builder, and now I am proud to be surrounded by an incredible team of builders with whom I share interests and am excited to build with in this space.

After releasing Infinites, we have been chatting about creating a platform that could be used by other artists to launch their NFTs: this is when the idea of FINE was formed. Nevertheless, since our early discussions, we have evolved the project into a cross-functional creative Lab as we recognize a need in the space that requires room to experiment, collaborate, and create. FINE will release projects by other artists but also collaborate with them. We seek to take on only special projects where creators need targeted technical and creative collaboration.

SOLIDS will be the genesis project at FINE, and will also be used as display galleries for our own projects — something like on-cyber does!

Infinites AI+IRL will be showcased in FINE as OG projects. In fact, we will migrate them into an improved contract, getting both projects completely on-chain. We will explain this in the upcoming weeks, along with the release of Infinites Islands, a project that will also be part of FINE.

Keep an eye on the FINE Twitter account: https://twitter.com/fine_digital_, give us a follow, and look for updates this week with the upcoming projects. We really have super cool stuff coming up!

SOLIDS on a 3D Environment. Note: FUR is not included in current SOLIDs due to incompatibility with web-based 3D environments

TL;DR — This is an update with this group of great supporters of Infinites and myself. For the last months, we have been creating and building non-stop, and now its time to release some of this hard work summarized in the following bullet points:

  1. We created FINE, a cross-functional lab dedicated to guiding artists and creatives in their exploration of working in the metasphere. FINE is launching within the next few days with the genesis project SOLIDS and other exciting multi-disciplinary projects by other artists and collectives. Give a follow:

2. As a Genesis project for FINE, we built SOLIDS, one of the first Generative Architecture projects for the Metaverse. SOLIDS are 3D downloadable buildings that can be incorporated into other 3D platforms to display art, game assets, or whatever its owner desires.

3. Infinites AI+IRL are the catalysts of Infinites Islands: an immersive 3D environment generated out of the Infinites original collection that will allow its owner to play within the Virtual Realm. The Alpha version will match the Infinites AI collection: 1:1, and we are aiming to have multiplayer games and the ability to load NFT assets.

To finish, I would appreciate it if you could support these projects by giving us a follow and staying up to date with the updates from the FINE, SOLIDS, and Infinites accounts. Thank you for taking the time to read this medium article, and please shoot me any questions, suggestions, and protests. During all this time, a lot of you guys have been supporting, helping, and giving me a lot of advice — I´m very grateful for this, thank you!
